Quantum Summit

The Quantum Advantage Summit organised by India DST as part of the #IndiaMobileCongress2024 at Bharat Mandapam today in which I delivered an address at opening session today, brought together key stakeholders, including industry leaders, academics, startups, and government representatives, to explore and advance the convergence of #quantum technologies.

The summit highlighted India’s role in the global quantum landscape, with a focus on areas such as quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum-safe cryptography and discussed how India’s National Quantum Mission #NQM and its Thematic Hubs (T-Hubs) are supercharging innovation and collaboration across these domains.

Prof. A K Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to GoI; Dr. Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman Mission Governing Board of National Quantum Mission & Dr. Jay Gambetta, Vice President, IBM -Quantum Computing in the Utility Era also participated in the session. Our proactive approach of a robust ecosystem of startups dedicated to quantum technology, through the startup hub at IISER Pune, will further boost this ecosystem.

Fostering collaboration and innovation and ensuring that our researchers, technology developers, and startups receive the support they need to succeed, will not only strengthen India’s position in quantum research but also make a significant contribution to the global technological landscape.
